Super helpful for my project!

Oh my gosh, I just tried the Subtitles service for a video project, and it was amazing! I needed foreign language subtitles, and HappyScribe made it so easy. The AI did a really good job with the initial pass, and then I could use the Video Editor to quickly clean up any little bits. The SRT Export worked perfectly with my editing software. I was worried it would be a huge headache, but it totally wasn't. Will absolutely be using them again for sure!

Easy to use, quick turnaround

I used the AI Transcription service recently for a recorded meeting, and it was pretty straightforward. Uploaded the audio, and it did its thing. Got the transcript back way faster than I thought it would, like in under an hour for a 30-minute file. The accuracy was good enough that I just had to tweak a few words here and there, mostly technical jargon. Definitely saved me a bunch of time compared to doing it myself.

Good AI Transcription accuracy

I used the AI Transcription feature for a 15-minute interview. The transcript came back quickly. Speaker Identification worked well. Accuracy was high, minimal edits needed. Worth the price.

Thinking of doing the annual plan for the discount. Does that mean I get credits monthly or is it a big chunk of credits upfront?

B Beth 2 months ago
You get a lump sum of credits upfront based on the plan you pick, and they're valid for the whole year. It's not like monthly refills.

It's a big credit bundle for the year. Makes sense if you know you'll be using it consistently and want to save some cash.

How does HappyScribe stack up against Otter.ai? Been using Otter but curious if HS is worth switching to, especially for accuracy or features.

N Neil Hughes 2 months ago
I've used both! HappyScribe feels a bit more polished with its export options and the editor. Otter is good for quick notes, but HS often has better speaker ID and more language support.

Accuracy-wise, it's pretty close, but HappyScribe's interface is way better for editing the final transcript. Plus, if you need human services, HS has that too, which Otter doesn't really focus on.

Can you actually cancel your subscription easily? Or is it one of those things where they make it super hard to leave once you've signed up for a plan?

S Sarah Carter 2 months ago
Yeah, it's straightforward. I canceled once when I wasn't using it much, no problem at all.

Super easy. Just go into your account settings and there's a cancel button. No hoops to jump through like some other services.

I'm in Canada, near Toronto. If I upload a 30-minute audio file, how long typically until I get the transcript back? Does it take longer for foreign languages?

J Josh Whitfield 2 months ago
For AI, it's super fast, usually minutes for a 30 min file. Location doesn't really matter for that since it's all online. Foreign languages might take a bit more processing time but it's still quick.

Like 5-10 minutes tops for a half-hour audio in English, in my experience. It's automated, so it's not like someone is manually typing it out from a different country. Your internet speed to upload might be the biggest factor.

Thinking of using HappyScribe for some interviews. How accurate is the AI transcription usually? Like, does it nail different accents?

K Kevin Ito 2 months ago
It's pretty good for AI, especially if the audio is clear. I've used it for podcasts with various speakers and it gets most of it. You'll still need to proofread, but way faster than doing it from scratch.

Accuracy depends a lot on the audio quality. For clean recordings, it's surprisingly solid. If you have mumblers or heavy background noise, you might struggle a bit more, but still better than some others I've tried.
